10 NFL Fanbases That Expect a Championship Every Year (and Never Get One)

Some NFL fanbases treat every offseason like it’s a coronation, not a rebuild. Despite the lack of recent hardware, these groups roll into every year with sky-high expectations—and the receipts to prove it when things inevitably fall apart.

From delusionally optimistic training camp predictions to furious “fire the coach” tweets by mid-October, these fanbases operate in a perpetual state of heartbreak. Hope springs eternal… and so does disappointment.

Every year, it’s a new quarterback, a new vibe, and the same old heartbreak. Browns fans believe this is finally the season—until it very much isn’t.

Somehow, the Bears can go 6-11 and still have fans swearing they’re a few tweaks away from a Super Bowl. It’s been almost 40 years since their last title, but optimism has no expiration date in Chicago.
