Fever’s Momentum Halts in Home Loss to Sparks
After riding a three-game winning streak without Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever stumbled in dramatic fashion on Saturday night. Dropping a nail-biter, 89–87, to the Los Angeles Sparks at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
With just three seconds remaining and trailing by two. Aliyah Boston had a chance to send Fever fans home in celebration. She received the ball near the top of the arc, took one dribble, and launched a mid-range jumper as time expired. The shot hit the front of the rim and bounced out, sealing the heartbreaking loss.
Head coach Stephanie White addressed the missed opportunity in her postgame press conference, offering a mix of praise and realism.
“AB had a really good look at the end… And sometimes it doesn’t just fall your way,” White said. “When teams play with that physicality and length, it can cause you to rush a little.”

Aliyah Standout Performance
Despite the missed game-winner, Boston delivered a standout performance, finishing with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists on 9-of-17 shooting. Teammate Natasha Howard chipped in 21 points and 9 boards.
But it wasn’t enough to overcome the Sparks’ firepower, as Rickea Jackson, Azurá Stevens, Kelsey Plum, and Dearica Hamby combined for 74 points. And ultimately ending Indiana’s short win streak.
The final shot, a free-throw line jumper from Aliyah Boston, falls short.

The Fever will look to bounce back on Wednesday, when they face Kate Martin and the Golden State Valkyries in the third game of their five-game home stand.
The question now: Can Boston shake off the miss and keep leading this Clark-less squad forward?
