Aaron Rodgers Gets Warm Welcome from Steelers Nation
Aaron Rodgers finally suited up for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the crowd at Saint Vincent College welcomed him like royalty. The four-time MVP entered camp to roaring applause and high-fives from fans thrilled to see their new QB1 take the field.
Rodgers joined the Steelers this offseason in a headline-making move, replacing both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields as Pittsburgh looks to return to postseason glory for the first time since 2016. Last season with the Jets, Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in a disappointing 5-12 campaign.

Defense Steals the Show on Rodgers’ First Snap
But Rodgers’ Steelers debut didn’t exactly go according to plan. On his very first snap, Rodgers attempted a deep shot to DK Metcalf, the newly acquired wideout from Seattle, only to have it intercepted by linebacker Patrick Queen. The defense erupted, and fans who had just cheered him moments earlier quickly flipped the tone.
Rodgers finished the session with just one completion in three attempts and was visibly out of sync. Meanwhile, Mason Rudolph made the most of his reps, completing all four passes with the second team.

Rodgers Looks to Mentor Rookie QB Will Howard
Despite the rocky start, Aaron Rodgers remains committed to leading this team and mentoring rookie Will Howard. Speaking previously on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers expressed a genuine desire to support the young quarterback and share wisdom from his two decades in the league.
“I want to help him as much as possible,” Rodgers said. “If I can help him become a better player this year, that would be an incredible achievement for me.”
Head coach Mike Tomlin isn’t worried. He confirmed Rodgers’ workload will be managed but emphasized the QB’s work ethic: “He’s a workaholic. I don’t have a lot of reservations about that.”
As Aaron Rodgers settles into his new role, all eyes will be on whether he can shake off a rocky camp start and lead the Steelers back to postseason relevance.
