Angel Reese’s Frustration Boils Over During Timeout
Angel Reese found herself at the center of controversy once again on Tuesday night as the Chicago Sky fell to the Washington Mystics, 81-79. The viral moment came with just under 30 seconds left in a tightly contested game, and fans were quick to weigh in.
During a timeout, Reese walked off the court visibly upset. As she passed Ann Crosby, the team’s vice president of strength and conditioning, Reese knocked a clipboard out of Crosby’s hands. Video of the moment spread quickly on social media, drawing backlash.
Fans Slam Reese for On-Court Behavior
“Never disrespect your coaches,” one user posted. Another added, “This is not good behavior.” Some commenters went even further, using the clip to renew comparisons between Reese and her former college rival, Caitlin Clark.
“Caitlin Clark would never,” one user wrote. Another added, “Gotta be a better role model. Caitlin Clark is a great example of one.”
Reese did manage to hit two clutch free throws to briefly tie the game at 79. But Washington’s Shakira Austin answered with two of her own with just two seconds left, sealing the Mystics’ win.

Sky Continue to Struggle Despite Reese’s Efforts
Despite the heated exchange, Reese put up one of her best performances of the season: 22 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists. But her standout game wasn’t enough to avoid the Sky’s 13th loss of the season. At 5-13, Chicago currently holds the second-worst record in the WNBA, ahead of only the Connecticut Sun.
Meanwhile, Clark’s Indiana Fever sit at 9-9 and are trending upward. Clark, who has missed 10 games with a groin injury, is expected to return on Wednesday against the Golden State Valkyries.
