Rookie Running Back Quinshon Judkins Arrested
The Cleveland Browns can’t seem to avoid controversy, and this time it involves rookie running back Quinshon Judkins. The former Ole Miss standout and 2025 second-round pick was arrested Saturday on misdemeanor domestic battery charges, according to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
Officers responded to a delayed battery incident and later confirmed Judkins as the suspect. He was taken into custody and held overnight. The Browns acknowledged the situation, stating they are gathering more details, while the NFL has yet to issue a formal comment though an investigation is likely.

Pattern of Poor Decisions Plagues Browns Front Office
Unfortunately, Judkins’ arrest is far from an isolated incident for Cleveland. Over the past few seasons, the franchise has developed a pattern of drafting and signing players who end up entangled with the law:
- In 2024, DT Mike Hall was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list for domestic violence allegations.
- In 2023, DT Perrion Winfrey was released following a misdemeanor assault arrest.
- And of course, there’s Deshaun Watson, who faced widespread backlash after being accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of massage therapists yet still received a massive contract from the Browns.
These repeated missteps raise red flags about Cleveland’s evaluation process, both in the draft and free agency. Whether or not Judkins is eventually found guilty. His arrest has already created another distraction the team didn’t need.
Judkins, who hasn’t even signed his rookie deal yet, was expected to play a key third-down role behind Jerome Ford. Especially after Nick Chubb left in free agency. Now, his future is unclear.
With the Browns’ quarterback situation shaky at best, they were counting on their run game to carry the offense. If Judkins is sidelined by league discipline or legal proceedings, that plan could unravel quickly.
Cleveland Must Reevaluate Its Culture and Vetting Process
