Caitlin Clark might be nearing her return, and fans are fired up.
The Indiana Fever’s star guard made waves Monday during a closed scrimmage at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Hosted for MVP season ticket holders. Clark, who has been sidelined with a left groin strain since June 24, knocked down the first basket of the session. And sending social media into a frenzy.
“The first bucket during our scrimmage… goes to Caitlin Clark 🪣,” the Fever posted on X, alongside a video clip of the play.

Fans React as Clark Shows Signs of a Comeback
While the Fever sit at 9‑9 and third in the Eastern Conference, they’ve gone 4‑5 without Clark. Despite her absence, Indiana earned their first in-season trophy by beating the league-leading Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship on July 1.
Clark’s limited appearance in the Monday scrimmage gave fans a shot of hope.

“If she is scrimmaging, you would assume she will be playing real soon?” one fan wrote.
“Caitlin Clark is back baby. Can’t wait for Wednesday,” another added.
Clark has missed five straight games but still averages 18.2 points, 8.9 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game over her first nine starts. Her potential return could give the Fever a critical boost heading into their midseason playoff push.
Indiana’s next matchup is set for Wednesday against the Golden State Valkyries. Just shy of two weeks since Clark last suited up. Based on Monday’s scrimmage, fans have reason to believe Caitlin Clark’s return may be just around the corner.
