FOX Makes Final Call on Colin Cowherd’s Co-Host

FOX Stands by Jason McIntyre as Colin Cowherd’s Co-Host

FOX’s Jason McIntyre isn’t going anywhere, despite what some fans might have hoped.

FOX Sports has announced it’s keeping McIntyre as co-host of “The Herd” alongside Colin Cowherd beyond the 2025 NFL season, extending his contract for another three years. The move comes after a wave of backlash over some of McIntyre’s more polarizing on-air takes, particularly his viral April prediction that the Kansas City Chiefs would miss the playoffs this upcoming NFL season.

“You look at the last three years, Kansas City has played 10 playoff games. That’s more than half another season,” McIntyre said. “The bodies are breaking down… I’m making the call here… I don’t think the Kansas City Chiefs are a playoff team next year.”

The comment drew the ire of NFL fans, many of whom labeled McIntyre a hot-take machine and called for his removal. But FS1 isn’t flinching. According to Awful Announcing, McIntyre’s new deal lines up with Cowherd’s own recently renewed contract, ensuring continuity for “The Herd” even as FS1 shuffles its daytime lineup.

The network has already axed shows like The Facility and Speak, leaving personalities like Emmanuel Acho, Paul Pierce, and Joy Taylor out in the cold. But McIntyre’s place appears secure, at least for now.

For fans who enjoy his bold predictions and fearless takes, it’s business as usual. For critics, though, it’s three more years of McIntyre, and more fuel for the fire.
