What started as a casual day on the green in Kissimmee, Florida turned violent when Jason Hughes, a local golfer, lost his temper over a slow-playing group ahead of him. Hughes is now facing aggravated battery charges and has been banned from all public golf courses following a disturbing physical assault that left another golfer seriously injured.
According to police, Hughes had already warned the group to speed things up. But when he saw one of the men chatting instead of swinging, he stormed over in frustration. Without much warning, he began shouting and throwing punches.
Witnesses say Hughes repeatedly struck the golfer in the face, even after he hit the ground. The victim suffered a broken bone near his eye, deep facial cuts, and severe bruising. Though he declined an ambulance, his friend rushed him to the hospital, where he received stitches and further treatment.

Hughes Fed Up With Fellow Golfer
The altercation came after earlier verbal spats between Hughes and the pair playing ahead of him. Frustrated by what he felt was deliberate stalling, Hughes took matters into his own hands, literally.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hughes last Thursday. He was booked at the Osceola County Jail and made his first court appearance on Friday, where his bond was set at $2,500. As a condition of his release, he’s been barred from entering any public golf course until the case is resolved.
Legal experts say Hughes could face jail time or a heavy fine if convicted. No trial date has been announced yet, but the case has already stirred strong opinions across Florida’s golfing community, with many calling the incident an example of how competition should never cross the line into violence.
