Katherine Legge Expands NASCAR Schedule

Katherine Legge Adds Brickyard 400 to Growing NASCAR Schedule

Katherine Legge is heading back to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but this time, she’s trading her open-wheel car for a stock car.

On Tuesday, the British driver revealed she will compete in the 2025 Brickyard 400, marking her first-ever NASCAR Cup Series start at the Brickyard. This announcement expands her current Cup schedule and brings her back to Indy for the first time since racing in the 2024 Indianapolis 500.

Legge, who drives the No. 78 Chevrolet Camaro for Live Fast Motorsports, shared her excitement via Instagram, saying,

“It’s always an honor to drive at Indy, but having the chance to compete in both the Cup and Xfinity races thanks to Desnuda and Droplight is going to be epic.”

A Career First: Double Duty at the Brickyard

The July 26–27 weekend will be a milestone for Legge, as she prepares to pull double duty—racing in both the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series events. The high-profile doubleheader will be her fifth Cup start and sixth Xfinity start of the 2025 season.

Backed by sponsors like e.l.f. Cosmetics, Desnuda Tequila, Droplight, and Sherfick Companies, Legge’s growing presence in NASCAR is breaking barriers. She’s one of the few women competing in the Cup Series and is determined to gain as much track time as possible this year.

“Adding races to my schedule is exactly what I’ve been working toward,” Legge noted. “I’m incredibly thankful to Team Chevy and all my partners for making my return to the Brickyard extra special.”

A Veteran Chasing Versatility

Legge’s 2025 schedule is designed to accelerate her learning curve, featuring a diverse mix of tracks including Rockingham, Talladega, Charlotte, Texas, Chicago, and even Mexico City. From superspeedways to short tracks and road courses, the lineup reflects her deep commitment to mastering stock car racing.

Despite qualifying challenges in the past due to car unfamiliarity, Legge says she gains confidence with every lap. “After the first stage, I found my rhythm. That’s when I really felt ready to race,” she explained.

With over 20 years of professional experience, Legge has competed in IndyCar, IMSA SportsCar, and NASCAR’s Xfinity and Cup Series—though she’s yet to enter the Truck Series. Her return to the Brickyard in a Cup car symbolizes a full-circle moment in a groundbreaking motorsports career.

As Legge gears up for another appearance at one of racing’s most iconic venues, she’s doing more than expanding her schedule, she’s cementing her legacy.
