Ranking the 15 Most Obnoxious Quarterbacks in NFL History

Quarterbacks are supposed to lead with poise and class. But sometimes, they can’t help themselves from strutting, pouting, trash-talking, or just making everything about them.

From cocky comments to constant drama, these 15 quarterbacks had a special talent for rubbing fans the wrong way. Whether you loved them or hated them, they definitely made sure you were paying attention.

15. Jay Cutler

Jay Cutler had a permanent scowl and the body language of a guy who’d rather be anywhere else. His indifference wasn’t just a vibe—it was practically a brand.

14. Jim McMahon

The original headband-wearing rebel, McMahon, never missed a chance to push buttons. Whether it was taunting opponents or calling out authority, he always played the villain with a wink.

13. Philip Rivers

Trash-talking without swearing was somehow even more irritating. Rivers chirped nonstop, often looking like the guy who takes rec league softball way too seriously.

12. Boomer Esiason

5. Cam Newton

Sep 28, 2014; Baltimore, MD, USA; Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (1) scrambles with the ball against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.
