The 2024 NFL season is in the books, and teams are already looking ahead to 2025. Some are riding high, convinced they’ve got the next dynasty in the making. Others? Well, they’re holding their franchises together with duct tape and vibes.
Let’s rank all 32 teams by how confident they’re feeling heading into 2025, from absolute panic mode to full-blown Super Bowl dreams.
32. New York Giants

Until the Giants actually go out and prove it on the field, every single NFL fan’s expectations are going to be basically zero.
31. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers spent the past year watching their former first-overall pick flounder all over again. Yikes. The vibes are bad, the hope is low, and they might need a full reset… again.
30. Tennessee Titans

Will Levis showed flashes, but this team was a disaster in 2024. The Titans need a new direction, and until then, they’re just sort of… there.
29. New York Jets

The New York Jets are starting over in practically every way in 2025, so there’s really no where else to go but up?
28. Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray is decent, but the Cardinals still feel like a team that’s constantly “one or two years away.” They might be fun in 2025, but for now, they’re just another team trying to escape irrelevance.
27. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have Pete Carroll and Geno Smith, but will they be able to fix the franchise’s problems? They have some exciting young pieces, but let’s be honest—does anyone actually trust this franchise to make the right moves?
26. New England Patriots

The Patriots are still in their rebuilding phase. The dynasty is long gone, the quarterback situation is still questionable, and their offense is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
25. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons will be rolling with Michael Penix Jr. next season, which will be interesting to watch. Sure, there will be growing pains, but the Falcons may have themselves a franchise QB.
24. Chicago Bears

The Bears have Caleb Williams, so now they need to go out and win. Oh, and they have to actually stick with their coach.
23. Indianapolis Colts

Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones will be fighting for the starting quarterback position, which basically tells you everything you need to know about this Colts team. The Colts are a wild card—either they take a step forward, or they get stuck in mediocrity.
22. Pittsburgh Steelers

Mike Tomlin never has a losing season, but that’s about the nicest thing you can say about this team. The Steelers are still searching for an actual offensive identity, and until they find one, they’re just an average team.
21. New Orleans Saints

They may be good enough to stay in the NFC South race, but does anyone actually fear the Saints? They feel like a team that needs a reset ASAP.
20. Los Angeles Chargers

New head coach, same old Chargers? This team always has talent but finds ways to disappoint. Maybe 2025 is different, but until they prove otherwise, nobody’s betting on them.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield played well enough to keep the Bucs afloat, but are they actually building something sustainable? They’re stuck between rebuilding and competing, and that’s a tough place to be.
18. Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence is still good, but 2024 was a step back. The Jaguars need to get back on track quickly, or else they risk falling into the dreaded “wasted potential” category.
17. Cleveland Browns

The Browns have a strong defense and some pieces on offense, but Deshaun Watson’s contract is an anchor, and their long-term ceiling is unclear.
16. Dallas Cowboys

Every single offseason, the Cowboys talk themselves into thinking this is their year. Whether or not it actually is? That’s another story.
15. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers had a rocky 2024 season, but they’re hopeful they can right the ship in 2025. If Brock Purdy keeps playing at a high level, they’ll be right back in the playoff conversation.
14. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings keep finding ways to stay competitive, but there are still question marks around rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy. We’ll have to wait to see how he plays to make any real judgements.
13. Seattle Seahawks

Seattle has built something solid, but are they a legitimate Super Bowl contender? Not yet. They’re fun, competitive, and well-coached, but they need another leap forward.
12. Denver Broncos

The Broncos look like they’re finally back on track. With quarterback Bo Nix, Sean Peyton, and the rest of the organization, this team could really threaten Kansas City in the AFC West.
11. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are loaded with talent, but can they finally win a big game? 2025 is their chance to prove they’re more than just a fun regular-season team.
10. Los Angeles Rams

Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford keep the Rams relevant, and their young talent is developing fast. They might not be the favorites, but they’re still a threat.
9. Houston Texans

CJ Stroud looks like a franchise QB, and the Texans are building something special. Houston’s confidence is sky-high compared to where it was just a year ago.
8. Green Bay Packers

Turns out, Green Bay still has a QB factory. Jordan Love looks legit, and the Packers feel like they’re on the rise.
7. Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen keeps them in the conversation, but the Bills need to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs. Until then, Bills fans will always be heartbroken.
6. Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow’s health is everything. Oh, and making sure they don’t start out the season losing a bunch of games. If he can stay healthy, the Bengals are a contender. If not, 2025 could be another frustrating year.
5. Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson nearly won MVP (again) and the Ravens are a perennial contender. They haven’t gotten over the hump yet, but confidence remains high.
4. Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are riding high off of their NFC Championship appearance and they should be. Jayden Daniels is the real deal, the just signed Deebo Samuel, and it looks like this franchise is finally back on track.
3. Kansas City Chiefs

It’s the Chiefs. They have Patrick Mahomes. That alone keeps them near the top of the confidence rankings every single year.

The Lions ended the 2024 season disappointed, but they are definitely a team that’s here to stay. There’s still some “we’ve been burned before” energy, but confidence is high in Detroit.
