14 NFL Franchises Touched by the Football Gods

Every NFL fan knows the feeling: your team fumbles a game-winning drive, misses a 29-yard field goal, or gets bounced by a fluke Hail Mary. And then there are those other teams who always seem to catch the breaks, win the coin flips, and get the calls. It’s like they were blessed with some divine football intervention.

Some franchises glow them. Maybe it’s history, perhaps it’s luck, or maybe it’s a phone line straight to the gridiron gods. Whatever it is, these teams seem to walk in the light more often than not.

14. Indianapolis Colts

Peyton Manning into Andrew Luck felt like a quarterback blessing few teams could ever dream of. Sure, it didn’t last forever, but it felt like the stars had aligned for a while.

13. Dallas Cowboys

They haven’t been to a Super Bowl in forever, but still get the spotlight. The gods may not hand them rings, but they sure hand them relevance.

12. Denver Broncos

quarterback John Elway (7) celebrates his victory and a second consecutive championship against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII at Joe Robbie Stadium. Elway in his last game, passed for 336 yards and ran for a touchdown earning him most valuable player honors. The Broncos defeated the Falcons 34-19.

From Elway to Manning, they’ve been gifted generational QBs just when they needed them most. Even during down years, they’re just one divine spark away from rising again.

11. Seattle Seahawks

It’s hard to explain how often this team pulls off miracles. From the Legion of Boom to that NFC Championship comeback, something always seems to be working in their favor.

10. Minnesota Vikings

They haven’t won it all, but let’s be honest—this team’s had more wild finishes than most franchises could dream of. Whether it’s good or heartbreakingly bad, the gods are watching.

9. Baltimore Ravens

Somehow, they went from the Ray Lewis era to the Lamar Jackson era with barely a bump. This franchise always seems to find its footing, no matter the chaos.

8. Pittsburgh Steelers

They don’t do rebuilds—they reload. Even when they’re “down,” they’re still annoyingly competitive and always seem to find a way into the playoff conversation.

7. New York Giants

Twice, they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl in the most ridiculous ways possible. Eli Manning’s magic alone could qualify as divine intervention.

6. Los Angeles Rams

From the Greatest Show on Turf to a Super Bowl win in their stadium, this team keeps finding the spotlight. The move to LA didn’t just bring palm trees but also divine timing.

5. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have been one of the most successful franchises in NFL history, and they’re still finding success. They haven’t won a Super Bowl in a while, but they’re always competitive.

4. Green Bay Packers

Dec 13, 2020; Detroit, Michigan, USA; Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (12) hands off to running back Aaron Jones (33) during the fourth quarter against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field

They had exactly two quarterbacks over 30 years, and both are Hall of Famers. It’s not luck—it’s some cosmic quarterback inheritance plan.

3. Philadelphia Eagles

Nov 30, 2020; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA; Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz (11) looks back from the huddle during the first quarter against the Seattle Seahawks at Lincoln Financial Field

They may have spent decades as underdogs, but the past few years have felt oddly charmed. Even when things go sideways, they somehow land on their feet with a new star or a Super Bowl ring.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

They waited forever, but once Patrick Mahomes showed up, the sky opened and all the blessings came raining down. It’s almost unfair at this point.

Let’s not overthink this: six rings, two decades of dominance, and more improbable wins than you can count. The gods had a favorite child for a long time.
