10 NFL Teams That Should Seriously Consider Relocating

Not every NFL city is a perfect match for its team. Whether it’s a lack of fan support, outdated stadiums, or just a general sense of why is this team even here?, some franchises might be better off packing their bags and starting fresh somewhere else.

Let’s take a look at 10 NFL teams that should seriously consider relocating—because sometimes, a change of scenery is exactly what you need.

10. Los Angeles Chargers

Did anyone in LA actually want the Chargers? Because it sure doesn’t seem like it. Ever since they abandoned San Diego, the Chargers have been playing in front of opposing fans in their own stadium. It’s basically a weekly road game. Maybe a return to San Diego—or literally anywhere else—would help them find an actual fanbase.

9. Carolina Panthers

Charlotte is a great city, but Panthers games just don’t hit the way they should. The stadium atmosphere is weak, the team has been in a constant rebuild, and honestly, would anyone really be upset if they moved? If the NFL ever wants to expand internationally, putting a team in Toronto or Mexico City could be way more exciting.

8. Arizona Cardinals

Openverse

The Cardinals have been in Arizona for over 30 years, and yet it still feels like they don’t have a real fanbase. Sure, there are diehards, but for the most part, home games are filled with the opposing team’s fans. Add in a stadium way out in Glendale and some questionable front office decisions, and this franchise could use a fresh start.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars

Openverse

Let’s be honest: the Jaguars already kinda have one foot out the door. Their owner, Shad Khan, keeps flirting with the idea of playing more games in London, and their home attendance in Jacksonville has been rough at times. Would a full-time move to the UK make sense? Maybe not—but it’s probably more likely than Jacksonville suddenly becoming a football hotbed.

6. Tennessee Titans

The Titans have some loyal fans, but they’ve also struggled with attendance, and Nissan Stadium is bad. Like, high school stadium levels of uninspiring. A new stadium is in the works, but even so, would the Titans fit better in a football-crazy city like St. Louis? Or maybe even Portland? Just throwing it out there.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Openverse

Tampa Bay has had a weird relationship with its football team. They show up when the team is good (thanks, Tom Brady!), but when the Bucs are struggling, those empty seats become very noticeable. Florida is already packed with sports teams—maybe it’s time for the Bucs to test out a new market. Salt Lake City, anyone?

4. New Orleans Saints

Openverse

Before Saints fans riot, hear me out: New Orleans is one of the best atmospheres in football when the team is good. But the city itself has struggled to keep up with major-market franchises, and if the team ever falls into a deep rebuild, would fan support really hold up? It’s unlikely the NFL would ever move the Saints, but in a different reality, this is a team that might fit better in a bigger market.

3. Las Vegas Raiders

Yes, Vegas just got the Raiders, but hear me out—this might not be a long-term match. Allegiant Stadium is basically a vacation stop for opposing fans, and the team still feels like an outsider in its own city. Moving again (maybe back to Oakland?) would be insane, but with the Raiders, nothing is off the table.

2. Buffalo Bills

Openverse

Buffalo fans are incredible, but let’s be real—the weather is brutal, the stadium is ancient, and the team has had to relocate home games because of snow multiple times. The Bills Mafia deserves better than freezing their tails off in a stadium built before the disco era. A move to a domed stadium in a bigger market could make the Bills even more of a powerhouse.

The Bears are Chicago, but let’s not ignore the fact that they’re actively looking to move out of Chicago. Soldier Field is a disaster, and the team’s ownership is itching for a shiny new stadium in the suburbs. Whether it’s Arlington Heights or a total relocation (cough St. Louis cough), this is a team that could be calling a new city home very soon.
