Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered another tight loss on Sunday night, falling 80-75 to the Minnesota Lynx. It was a tough pill to swallow, especially after a hot start and a standout performance from their All-Star forward.
The Sky jumped out to a 24-10 lead in the first quarter but slowly unraveled as the Lynx clawed their way back, eventually edging the second half to hand Chicago its 12th loss of the season.
But the real talking point came after the game.

Coach Marsh Sounds Off on Angel Reese Free Throw Disparity
First-year head coach Tyler Marsh didn’t hold back in the postgame press conference. He zeroed in on the free throw imbalance, highlighting what he sees as a persistent issue for his frontcourt stars—including Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso, and Elizabeth Williams.
“It’s hard to imagine that we would only have eight free throws with the amount of opportunities we have in the paint,” Marsh said. “I know that Kamilla, Elizabeth and Angel receive a lot of contact down there. For us to not get to the line more than that is frustrating.”

"I know that Kamilla, Elizabeth and Angel receive a lot of contact down there. For us to not get to the line more than that is frustrating."
Reese turned in another impressive double-double with 16 points, 17 rebounds, and six assists. Still, she didn’t get to the line once in the fourth quarter, despite absorbing plenty of contact in the paint. Meanwhile, MVP candidate Napheesa Collier shot seven free throws in that quarter alone.
As the Sky fall to 5-12, questions are mounting about whether officials are giving Reese the respect she’s earned down low. With another road test coming Tuesday morning against the Washington Mystics, Chicago is desperate to turn momentum back in their favor—and maybe finally get a few more calls along the way.
