Stephanie White T’d Up After Heated Dispute With Ref

Technical Sparks Tension in Fever’s Game vs. Aces

Stephanie White let her emotions fly in the Indiana Fever’s latest clash with the Las Vegas Aces. And it cost her a technical foul.

The Fever, trying to break a two-game losing streak, took the floor without Caitlin Clark, who’s still nursing a groin injury. But it was White who brought the fire.

During a tense moment in the game, White exploded over what was viewed as a missed foul call. According to Chloe Peterson, a Fever beat writer, the head coach stormed onto the court and was quickly hit with a technical.

“White gets irate with the ref after a non-call, going out onto the court, and she immediately gets called for a technical,” Peterson posted on X. “(Pretty bad non-call imo).”

White’s reaction lit up social media, and the Fever bench.

White’s Passion Runs Deep in Indiana

This isn’t just another coaching gig for Stephanie White. She’s in her first season back leading the Fever, but her ties to the franchise run deep. She played for Indiana from 2000 to 2004 and later served as both assistant and head coach from 2011 to 2016.

She also led the Connecticut Sun before returning this year, earning WNBA Coach of the Year honors in 2023.

Clark has now missed 13 games this season due to injury. Though her absence is notable, White’s leadership keeps the team’s fire alive. The Fever may be shorthanded, but they’re still fighting with or without their star guard.
