20 College Football Fanbases That Are Weirdly Nice

College football is known for its intensity—on the field, in the stands, and absolutely on message boards. But every now and then, you stumble upon a fanbase that feels more like a warm hug than a verbal brawl in the comment section.

These are the fans who might still tailgate hard and paint their faces, but somehow manage to do it with a smile and a “bless your heart.” From Southern charm to midwestern manners, here are 20 college football fanbases that are weirdly, almost suspiciously, nice.

19. Washington State

Maybe it’s the remote location or all that Pullman hospitality, but Coug fans are a surprisingly kind bunch. They’ll cheer on their team with pride and still high-five you on the way out, win or lose.

18. Iowa State
