Sparks Hope Brink’s Return Fuels Playoff Push
The Los Angeles Sparks just got the boost they’ve been waiting for, Cameron Brink is back. Head coach Lynne Roberts confirmed during Monday’s practice that the second-year forward will make her season debut Tuesday against the Las Vegas Aces.
This marks Brink’s first game since tearing her ACL early last season. Although she’ll likely be on a minutes restriction. Her presence alone is a major win for a Sparks team currently riding a five-game winning streak.
Brink was drafted No. 2 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft and quickly showed promise as a dominant shot-blocker. In just 15 games last season, she averaged 2.3 blocks and 1.3 steals per game, nearly matching league-leader A’ja Wilson in rejections. She also made headlines with a game-saving block in L.A.’s first win last year.

After being upgraded to doubtful last week, Brink was expected to return by the end of July. While she missed the early-season target of playing before the All-Star break, her return now could be even more impactful. For the first time this season, L.A. will have a fully healthy roster.
And the timing couldn’t be better. The Sparks are just one game out of a playoff spot, and Brink’s return could provide the defensive anchor they need to end a four-year postseason drought.
Roberts also said she expects Brink will likely be on a minutes restriction but has to have that conversation with the medical staff. https://t.co/UTnUoWCgV3

If Brink can regain form and stay healthy, she could help rewrite the Sparks’ season story, starting with Tuesday’s showdown against the defending champion Aces.
